Leann Collins is an award-winning photographer whose work has been internationally published in a number of magazines and displayed in art galleries. Leann Collins is a widely known African wildlife photographer whose work has appeared in many magazines and gallery shows.
All of the Cards of Wildlife pictures were shot in the Samburu reservation in Africa. The Samburu are tribal lands deep in the heart of Kenya – raw, mysterious, and bountiful in its arid plains. Taking photos of wild animals is not without risk; a friend of Leann’s lost his life when he stumbled on an elephant at too close a range. The local tribal village has an orphan’s school class of children whose parents have been killed by elephant or lion and subsequently raised by the village. The Samburu are some of the most natural, uncorrupted of the tribal people in the world, staying close to their traditions and ancient Nilotic culture.
These cards are a collection of some of her most famous works, captured at a dangerously close range. Her creations have taken her into treacherous parts of Africa to get stunning images, many times mere feet away from deadly animals.
Ms. Collins has long been a supporter of local and national conservation groups, and has donated her art to various conservation programs and other charities; raising over $40,000 for various local organizations, most in the hunting field. Her original work is considered collectible and has risen in value by 50% over the last five years.
100 percent of the proceeds go to support wildlife conservation. Collins' collections cover many different genres and she can create entire themes of work that cohesively decorate wall space. For a more comprehensive gallery of her work, visitwww.leanncollins.com
